Tracking my exercise routine

Published by maxiegirl at 5:46 pm under Exercise, Feeding the body Edit This

Today I tried out my new electronic tracker ID at Curves.  My electronic tracker is set up to track me and just me as I do the circuit training.  My doubts as to its value quickly vanished.  Since it is set up for me, it knows when I’m working hard or just cooling it.  UH OH!  Now I can’t just do it and call it done.  Now I get information on how hard I’m exercising and where I need to be.

It’s not about anyone else, just me.  I soon found out that my electronic tracker has high expectations.  As I worked hard to keep the light green (good zone) and out of the yellow (try a little harder zone) and out of the red (you’re over doing it zone), I could see that I’d come a long ways.  Now this electronic tracker is saying I should try a little harder, do it a little longer.

Well, I’m in it for the exercise and the health I hope it will bring, so I went along with it.  The nice thing about electronic trackers is that you don’t have to pay attention to it at all.  It’s just telling you how to get results from your workout.  I know that it’s worth working for.  Exercise is making me feel so much better.

Not only do I feel better, but I look better.  I’m back doing my favorite activities:  square dancing and walking the dog.  These aren’t difficult activities, so it hurts when you can’t do it.  I still need to work on stamina, but I think this electronic tracker is going to push me a little now and then until I reach that goal as well.

It sounds like an interesting tracker. Is is a heart rate monitor or something more?

It is great that you are seeing such good results from Curves!

I’m not sure how it works. They set it up by having me work easy, then hard on each piece of equipment. Now before I use a piece of equipment, I scan an electronic tag on the machine. It then tells me green (doing fine), yellow (work harder) or red (quit and go to a cool down pad). I can also go to the computer and see what parts of my body were exercised and some other things about how I did that day. I think it’s a neat thing.
